La Jolla Shores

RESIDENTIAL / LA JOLLA, CA

The long time owner of this 1970’ era Ken Kellogg residence had an addition / renovation project for the property envisioned for years, and recently moved forward with the project. Environs collaborated with the owner, architect and engineers to develop a solution to address and allow for the development of the hillside to include a new pool + spa, outdoor living spaces + kitchen and a sport court for the family to use.

The materials and the design ideas were extended from the bold architecture from the original organic design and layout and the elevations were established to maximize the views of Point La Jolla / Mt. Soledad and the expanse of La Jolla Shores to Scripps Pier. The landscape was selected and implemented to complement the wood, concrete + brick materials and detailing of the architecture throughout the property.

SERVICES

Complete design + oversight of the project site improvements including concept design, design development, construction documents, specimen plant sourcing + tagging, site observation and maintenance specifications.

NOTABLE

This project connects the architecture to the site and the context of the ocean bluff. The sensitivity of the design, in conjunction with the challenges posed made this an extremely complex project.
