Otay Community Center
PUBLIC + CIVIC / CHULA VISTA, CA
A community center and gymnasium on a 3.0 acre site in the Otay neighborhood of Chula Vista, CA. The project design is an homage to the architecture of Ricardo Legorreta, designer of the nearby Chula Vista Library. Environs addressed the site plan and improvements for the project. The courtyard and palm grove are metaphor’s for the Village Square and the Oasis where the water source for the village is fed from.
Bold, colorful and well received, the Otay Community Center is a focal point of the community and won the highest award from the City in 2002.
